B2BVTF-ABS macros
Rockcity VTF-ABS macros use a vacuum thermoforming process applied to ABS thermoplastic to produce large climbing features that are as rigid as fibreglass (GRP) under climbing load, approximately half the weight, and far more impact-resistant. The flangeless design — developed over three years with aerospace and mechanical engineers — is protected by Patent Pending WO2025/191268. Rockcity ceased all GRP macro production in 2025.

Vacuum thermoforming draws heated ABS sheet over a mould using vacuum pressure to create a thin-walled rigid shell. The result is a macro that performs like fibreglass structurally but at approximately half the weight — making large features practical to handle and reset in commercial environments.
Most VTF-ABS macros carry a visible perimeter flange where the shell was trimmed after forming. Rockcity eliminated this through three years of R&D with aerospace and mechanical engineers, achieving edge profiles and insert geometry equivalent to GRP. Protected by Patent Pending WO2025/191268.
